Connie’s career took her from corporate America to a creative career as the owner and operator of Flourish in Canada! Listen to learn how this unfolded for her, and the unique insights she brings to pivoters as a former HR professional!

Connie’s Bio: When I was three years old, my mother caught me reorganizing her closet; I couldn’t stand the disorganization of her clothes. At six, I was following her around antique stores soaking up knowledge about furniture craftsmanship. At nine, I was playing “office” and got my dad’s old briefcase for Christmas.

You could say that I knew my passions early in life.

Fast-forward to 23, when I graduated from university with a business degree and went into HR management consulting where I spent the next 15 years climbing the corporate ladder, from cubicle to corner office. I was a “high performer,” “high-potential,” a “future leader” making six figures, receiving recognition and awards. By most standards, I was a big success. But I was miserable.

Then one weekend it hit me like a ton of bricks: I didn’t want to work in Corporate America anymore. I wanted to travel the world, move to another country, and start my own business. So that’s what I did.

My husband and I spent 14 months traveling around the world, literally, moved to Toronto, Canada, and now I run my own small business restoring antique furniture. All my passions have now converged and I’m loving it.
